How to use

  1. Play the song you want to analyze.
  2. Tap the TAP button — or press space — in time with the kick or snare.
  3. After 4+ taps the BPM stabilises. Confidence shows how consistent your taps are.
  4. Hit Save BPM to keep it. Reset to start a new tempo.

Tips for accuracy

  • Tap on the quarter note — the most steady downbeat.
  • For half-time hip-hop, double your taps and divide BPM by 2.
  • For drum & bass, halve your taps and multiply BPM by 2.
  • Pause and restart if the tempo shifts mid-song.

Why BPM matters

BPM (beats per minute) is the heartbeat of a track. DJs match BPM for seamless mixing. Producers sync delay and reverb to BPM for tight grooves.

Common ranges: hip-hop 80–110, house 120–130, techno 125–145, drum & bass 170–180.
